Libraries

CEGR Law provides general legal counsel to library districts and understand their unique structure as well as importance to a healthy community. Colorado’s library districts operate under unique legal parameters from other special districts, and face unusual operating issues involving the application of various library user confidentiality and First Amendment/free speech regulations that impact the services they provide. We work with libraries on open records issues and challenges to operating rules and regulations. And we work with libraries in real property matters, construction, and the usual intergovernmental agreements to share library facility space with neighboring municipalities and community members. Our libraries are a unique asset to the State and we enjoy working with library districts to stay on top of a changing regulatory world.
