David’s practice focuses on local government law, primarily representing special districts as general counsel, to which he brings particular expertise regarding public finance, taxation, due diligence review, complex transactions, civil litigation and public-private partnership matters. Before becoming a special district attorney, David practiced for nearly five years as a bond lawyer at both Kutak Rock’s Denver office and at Brownstein Hyatt Farber & Schreck. During this time, he represented Colorado special districts and other governmental issuers as bond and disclosure counsels. David also has several years of legal experience in both corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, as well as in complex civil litigation.
