CEGR lawyers have long represented entities that operate public water or sanitation systems. We seek cost effective legal solutions for these clients to enhance raw water collection systems, treated water distribution systems, property and water right acquisitions, easements, and shared resource agreements. We have facilitated the conversion of private water companies into local governmental entities and represent many operating governmental water suppliers. In addition to governmental water and sanitation suppliers, we continue to represent a large nonprofit municipal water supplier in the Denver metropolitan area.
We provide full service to our water supply clients in the State water courts and appellate courts for adjudicating all water right matters. Our lawyers routinely negotiate with State agencies and parties to adjudication proceedings the litigation, and usually achieve stipulated consent decrees for water court approval. If trial becomes necessary, CEGR Law water lawyers are well-versed in pretrial and trial procedures to protect clients’ interests and achieve a satisfactory result. Our clients with sanitary wastewater systems and must navigate the regulatory permit environment for treated wastewater discharge. We represent such clients before Colorado’s Water Quality Control Commission and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
